Discovery Science Center is hosting Tyler's first Maker Faire, an event showcasing science, performance, art and engineering.
A section of Locust Street was blocked off near the Discovery Science Center on Friday as the set up began for rocketry, solar cars, and bridge design exhibits.
Performances will include The Fly Kids, a local dance group and Arc Attack, a high-voltage musical group who use Tesla coils to create music.
The Maker Faire runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children at the gate. There is a discount for tickets ordered online.
You can learn more and order tickets on the fair's website, http://tylermakerfaire.com/.
