CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Moerlein Lager House is expanding just in time for the Cincinnati Reds Opening Day.

The micro brewery announced plans for the new Hops Garden, an additional outdoor bar located in front of the restaurant.

Moerlein officials say guests in the Hops Garden will enjoy draft beer, situated along Joe Nuxhall Way. It will fit up to 125 guests at a time.

"Anytime we have a special event, or the Reds are going to be in town, or a function going on in town, we'll always have someone out there so we can help take care of guests," explained Robert Gannaway, Moerlein Lager House. "So in case we're really busy, having trouble getting [people] in, there's always a place to get a beer."

Moerlein's new Hops Garden is expected to open in time for Opening Day on April 1st.

It's called white spot syndrome virus and it was first discovered in Thailand, but somehow it made its way to ponds in South Louisiana and specialists are struggling to find the funds to research a solution.  “The catch was increasing and increasing and then it dropped 70% and that's when you saw the dead crawfish floating in the water,” said a crawfish farmer of 34 years, Ian Garbarino.
