(CNN) - A New Jersey man has filed suit against Dr. Oz and Oprah Winfrey's Harpo Productions over what he said was bad medical advice.
Frank Dietl said he was watching Dr. Oz's syndicated television program and tried a trick that the doctor uses to help people fall asleep.
The trick was to heat up a pair of socks full of rice and put them on.
Dietl said he ended up with badly burned feet.
A representative for the program said they have not been served with a complaint yet and cannot comment.
However, the spokesman also said they stand by the content in their shows as safe and educational.
