La. Supreme Court hears voucher arguments

The Louisiana Supreme Court heard arguments over Governor Bobby Jindal's controversial voucher program, and a local attorney got in on the fight.

Last November, a judge ruled the program's funding as unconstitutional.

The Jindal administration appealed.

More than 5,000 Louisiana students are enrolled in the voucher program to attend private or religious schools.

Representing Louisiana families and home schoolers, local attorney Joel Pierce filed a brief Tuesday supporting the bill.

Pierce argues against the ACLU's position that the bill unfairly takes funds from publicly funded schools and diverts them to private schools.
