An accident on Interstate 20 on Monday afternoon has eastbound traffic backed up for almost four miles.
The accident took place near mile marker 559, which is between the Jim Hogg Road and County Road 35 exits.
According to officials, an 18-wheeler hauling apples pulled off the side of the road so the driver could check the load. As the truck was merging back onto the interstate, a flatbed 18-wheeler came up behind it and was unable to slow down. The flatbed changed lanes, but still clipped the side of the first truck, causing the flatbed to jackknife.
The driver of the flatbed truck was taken to the hospital with a cut on his leg. There were no other injuries reported.
Crews are currently working to clear the scene
