SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A genius was born 134 years ago.  Albert Einstein is known for his scientific breakthroughs.  What better way to celebrate his birthday than in the month of March.  March is also National Brain Awareness Month.  Today KSLA News 12 anchors, Pat Simon and Domonique Benn tested their brains with staff from Learning RX, a center that helps train the brain.

It's kind of like "Brain Training 101".  This type of training has been successful in helping improve the memory of Dementia and Alzheimer patients.  It also has been successful in helping children with Autism.

Can you recite the first 10 U.S. Presidents?  Pat and Domonique worked with Executive Director, Donesa Walker to learn the first ten fast and then recite them in a timed-test.  Its called visual memory and this type of training helps with recalling pieces of information from memory.

There are many other activities to help train the brain. You can test your brain, by clicking this link for Learning RX.  It will take you to the website where you can take a free cognitive skills test.

Every Friday, Learning RX host an activity from 12 noon-1p.m. at Gateway Church in Shreveport.
