HOPE, AR (KSLA) -

A Hope man is behind bars after a 15 pound package of marijuana addressed to his house was intercepted by postal inspectors.

The interception prompted investigators to set up a "controlled delivery" at the address,  and resulted in the arrest of 32-year-old Prince Demongo Thomas on Friday.

Hempstead County Deputies, South Central Drug Task Force Agents, Homeland Security Agents and Hope Police Officers then conducted a search warrant at 1305 Peach Street in Hope, Arkansas.

They say they found another half-pound of marijuana inside the residence.

According to the Hempstead County Sheriff's Office, information from that search led deputies to obtain another search warrant in the Washington area later in the day. However, no arrest or seizures were made at that location.

Thomas was booked into the Hempstead County Detention Center on possession of a schedule VI controlled substance (marijuana) with the purpose to deliver.

A court date for a first appearance has not yet been set.
