A big name in Hollywood came to East Texas Friday night.
Danny Glover was the speaker at this years Texas College Legacy dinner and scholarship fundraiser at Harvey Convention Center in Tyler.
The ceremony recognizes distinguished honorees for the year around the community as well as the Legacy scholarship recipients.
KLTV's Dia Wall was the mistress of ceremonies at the event.
Past legacy honorees and scholarship recipients were in attendance, and one scholarship recipient, Texas College student body president Jake Martin, said he couldn't be more grateful.
"Well I'm just definitely honored to have it. It's obviously helping me pay for school, so it's just helping me continue my education and reach what I want to do. So I'm very grateful," Martin said.
Friday night's ceremony was the fifth annual Legacy dinner and Texas College representatives said they hope to continue the dinner and the Legacy scholarship for many years to come.
