SHREVEPORT-BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) -
Bossier City authorities are working an apparent two-car crash that has shut down several lanes of traffic on Barksdale Boulevard from the Jimmie Davis Bridge to Golden Meadows Drive.
Police say three people were injured in the head-on collision involving a car and a pickup truck. The driver of the pickup was flown to LSU Medical Center because of life-threatening injuries. His condition has been listed as critical but stablized.
The conditions of the passenger in the pickup and of the driver in the car is not known. A dog in the pickup was taken to a veterinary clinic in Shreveport.
The car was heading south about 9:30 p.m. when, for unknown reasons, it veered into the southbound lanes of Barksdale Boulevard, striking the pickup head-on, police say.
Both northbound and southbound lanes are closed in that section of Barksdale Boulevard.
Bossier Police ask that drivers avoid the area to give authorities time to investigate scene and clear the wreckage.
