CADDO PARISH, LA (KSLA) -
The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office Traffic Safety Unit is investigating the death of a bicyclist struck by two vehicles Friday on Hwy 171 night.
The bicyclist, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
It happened just after 9 p.m. the intersection of Hwy 171 and Keithville-Kingston Road.
Investigators believe that a northbound GM SUV struck the bicyclist as he was crossing the intersection from east to west.
They say it appears the bicyclist was then struck by another vehicle that did not stop. Witnesses told investigators that it may have been a dark-colored four-door sedan.
The driver of the SUV, 18-year-old Jacob Menchue of Stonewall, has undergone toxicological testing, in accordance with state law.
