Schools across the country participated in "Read Across America (Louisiana) today.  Each year schools participate in the event to encourage reading.  It normally falls around Dr. Seuss' birthday (March 2nd).

Teachers usually spend the day with themed activities for Dr. Seuss.  At Meadowview Elementary in Bossier City, students wore the signature read and white tall hat.  Some wore bow ties.  KSLA Anchor Domonique Benn was there to read a couple of Dr. Seuss stories to the second grade class.

Anchor Pat Simon spent the morning at Caddo Heights in Shreveport.  He also read Dr. Seuss stories.

Friday night at 6:00, Pat and Domonique will have a guest on to talk about Read Across America and many of the activities planned for Saturday, Dr. Seuss' actual birthday.
