Sequester expected to impact Armstrong International

Travelers at Armstrong International Airport will start to feel the sequester impact.

Air traffic controller furloughs would have them taking off one to two days per pay period.

This will result in fewer controllers in the tower, which may lead to longer flight delays in the major cities and have a ripple impact across the country.

There may also be fewer Transportation Security Administration agents to check bags, which could lead to longer waits for travelers.

Later on 9 News at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., we'll explore further how sequestration could affect people in Louisiana and what steps are being taken to get ready for it.
