Vicki Zimmerman receives LAB Lifetime Achievement Award
BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
Veteran Louisiana broadcaster Vicki Zimmerman received a "Lifetime Achievement Award" from the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters Thursday.
Zimmerman began her career in television broadcasting at KPLC-TV in Lake Charles in 1983. In 1995, she moved to WAFB-TV in Baton Rouge where she was eventually named News Director at the station. It was under Zimmerman's leadership that all of WAFB's newscasts became the highest-rated in the market.
In 2009, Zimmerman was named Regional News Director for Raycom Media. Raycom, an employee-owned company, is one of the nation's largest broadcasters and owns and/or provides services for 52 television stations in 36 markets and 18 states.
In her current position, Zimmerman oversees news operations for nine television stations including WAFB-TV, KSLA-TV, and KPLC-TV in Louisiana.
