SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
There are big changes coming to the G.E.D. test, and those who teach test prep classes say students need to act now. Starting next year it will cost more going up from $90 to $120 to take the test.
The format of the test will also change. Instead of multiple choice scantron, it will be given on the computer with different types of questions.
"The test will be different. There will be drop down boxes. There will be fill in the blank questions. There will be constructive response questions," said Southern University Adult Education Instructor Raina Campbell.
Another change will be the number of parts in the test. Right now there are 5 parts to the test. In 2014 there will only be four. Instructors say if you have already passed part of the G.E.D. test you need to finish it soon because after the first of the year you'll lose any previous work.
