SHREVEPORT, La. - The no. 2 LSU Shreveport Pilots blasted 18 hits as they dominated the Louisiana College Wildcats 15-5 on Tuesday night at Pilot Field wrapping up an eight-game home stand for the Pilots. LSUS had six different hitters with multi hits.
Kade Billeaudeaux and Taylor Drolette led the offensive attack for the Pilots as both were 3-for-5 with two runs batted in while Kym Barthel, K. J. Semien, Kyle Pearson and Ridge Gonsoulin all had a pair of hits.
LSUS (12-4) erupted for eight runs on eight hits in the bottom of the second inning to take control of the contest with the big blast coming on a two-run single by Reed Lavallee on his only hit of the night and a two-run double by Pearson as he drove in his 20th run of the year.
The Pilots added three runs in the third, one in the fourth, and three more in the eighth.
Louisiana College (3-6) proved they could hit the ball as well as they ripped 13 hits with Mark Reindeau leading the charge going 4-for-5 and Jake Hillman along with Taylor Beavers were the only other Wildcats with at least two hits.
Caleb Olson (2-1) picked up the win for the Pilots tossing five and a third innings surrendering six hits, two runs, two walks, and four strikeouts. Cade Bowen worked a perfect 1-2-3 ninth inning to seal the deal.
