PHOENIX (CBS5) -
Security at a Phoenix bar now carry stun guns after an angry man tried to beat down the door with an ax.
Last Saturday night the staff at Oz Bar told CBS 5 News they had a run in with Lawrence Aguirre.
"He wasn't wearing a tin suit, but he definitely brought the ax to the party," said security manager Erik Sanchez.
Sanchez said the 40-year-old got kicked out of the bar after getting into a fight with his girlfriend. A couple hours later he came back. Bouncers saw him and escorted him out a second time. Witnesses said that's when he went to his car and grabbed an ax from the backseat.
"We closed the door real quick and he hit the door twice. About 10 seconds later we opened the door to see if he left. He stormed in with an ax," said Joey Garcia.
That's when a go-go dancer stepped in to help.
"We have a little catty corner wall and there happened to be a dancer hiding behind the wall. As he walked past the dancer he then jumped on the guys back as he's swinging the ax," said Sanchez.
The manager used a pool stick to help take Aguirre down. He was arrested by Phoenix police.
