You may have heard a little about a new public charter school being built on the Clyde Fant Parkway.
The Magnolia School of Excellence is the first new public school in 25 years in Caddo Parish - starting as a K-6 school this fall and adding the 7th and 8th grade in year 2 and 3. It is a school with the same high expectations as a magnet or private school - but with no admission tests or tuition - and will be open to every student in Caddo Parish.
The new charter school is about putting students first in every decision, engaging students and parents, and preparing children to thrive in a rapidly changing world. The focus on character education and a comprehensive curriculum including music, art and foreign language will be supported by a heavy dose of technology. Our board's goal is to have an answer for parents when they ask "What are you doing to fuel my child's dreams?"
We want to be a part of building these futures. Please join us for an evening school information meeting on Tuesday, February 19th or March 5th at 6 p.m. and find out more on our website at magnoliacharter.org.
