EXCLUSIVE: A look inside the Margaritaville Casino

Crews are diligently working to complete the Margaritaville Casino and Resort in Bossier City on time. Amid the chaos of construction, the casino has started to take shape. Barry Regula, general manager of the casino, showed KSLA News 12 around the interior of the casino starting with the 900 seat event center located just off the main entrance.

"There will be balcony seating and a VIP section," said Regula. "The configuration will put you very close to the performer on the stage."

The massive open area alongside the event center will soon become the casino floor which will house 30,000 square feet of gaming machines and tables. The area itself is 42,000 square feet to allow for walkways and staging areas.

Surrounding the casino floor will be two restaurants and a buffet. The signature restaurant will be the Jimmy Buffett Margaritaville restaurant. The venue has a volcano that plays a role in the nightly activities.

"The stage is built to Jimmy Buffett's specifications because he's been known to pop up unexpectedly in his restaurants and get on stage and play. So he wants it built a certain way to accommodate him when he shows up."

Regula also showed KSLA News 12 a guest room and an exclusive look inside the presidential suite which sits on the top floor and is surrounded by window views.

"Essentially the presidential suite takes up the space of four regular rooms."

A space whose first guest will likely be the man behind the Margaritaville name, Mr. Jimmy Buffett himself.
