DESOTO PARISH, LA (KSLA) -
An initial autopsy has found no signs of foul play in the death of a man found lying in a ditch Saturday morning outside Logansport High School.
The body of 25-year-old Dustin Cole Hardy of Logansport was spotted by a passing driver along Highway 5 around 8 a.m.
Chief Detective Lt. Robert Davidson with the DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office says preliminary autopsy results showed no signs of foul play. Still, investigators are still awaiting final results and toxicology testing to be completed.
Other than some minor abrasions to the chin and knee, Davidson says there were no obvious signs of trauma to Hardy's body.
Davidson says they're now interviewing people who were with Hardy Friday night at a private party at the Logansport American Legion Hall to try to determine what may have happened.
"We've got lots of people to talk to and lots of things to do to make a determination on this and an autopsy report would be very important," says Lt. Robert Davidson.
Investigators will also be checking surveillance footage from the high school to see if that could shed some light on what happened to Hardy.
