SHREVEPORT, La. - The no. 2 LSU Shreveport Pilots (7-3) split Friday's double header with the Culver-Stockton Wildcats (5-4) with LSUS taking game one 5-0 but falling in game two 14-3.

GAME 1, W 5-0
Jason Mouton picked up his third win of the season on a night where he nearly picked up his first collegiate no-hitter surrendering the game's only hit to the lead-off batter of the top of the fifth inning to Cody Jacobson. Mouton tossed six solid innings walking just one and struck out five.

LSUS got the scoring started in the first inning when Kyle Pearson drove in Reed Lavallee's courtesy runner Jacob Lopez as the Pilots took the 1-0 lead and never looked back. The bottom of the order produced a pair of runs in the second inning with RBI-singles from Kym Barthel and William Breland to extend the lead to 3-0.

Ridge Gonsoulin hit his second homer of the year in the bottom of the third and later Kade Billeaudeaux drove in a run with an RBI-double.

The Pilots belted nine hits in the series opener but only had two with multi-hits as Reed Lavallee was 2-3 while Billeaudeaux was 2-2.

GAME 2, L 3-14
The night cap of the double header is one the Pilots would soon like to forget as they saw their seven-game win streak come to an end as Culver-Stockton scored seven runs in the top of the second inning to take control of the game as the Pilots played one of their worst games in a long time committing five errors in the field, walked seven batters and hit seven.

Culver-Stockton had nine hit and only one batter with multi hits as Andrew Quiles was 2-4 while the Pilots' only multi-hit was Kyle Pearson who was also 2-4 as the Pilots had only five hits in the contest.

The same two teams will meet tomorrow for the rubber-game of the series at 1 p.m.
