Lady Techsters fall to Seattle

RUSTON – Whitney Frazier had 20 points as Louisiana Tech came up short against Seattle 87-74 Thursday night in the Thomas Assembly Center in front of 2,351 Lady Techster fans.

Louisiana Tech jumped out of the gate on a 6-0 run, but Seattle battled back to lead by six at the half. Seattle continued their high-paced offense in the second half leading by as much as 18. Louisiana Tech out-rebounded Seattle, but the Redhawks dominated from the free throw line, making 31 of 36 free throw attempts.

Brittany Lewis scored 11 points to go along with Frazier's 20 points. Kelia Shelton led the team with seven rebounds as the Lady Techsters out rebounded the Redhawks 36-35. Louisiana Tech held Seattle without a field goal over the final six minutes.

Seattle University was led by Kacie Sowell who led all scorers with 26 points. Also scoring in double digits for Seattle were Sylvia Shephard, Ashley Ward and Daidra Brown who scored 16, 16 and 12 points respectively.

Louisiana Tech returns to action Saturday, Feb. 16 when they face off with Idaho in a 7 p.m. tip off in the Thomas Assembly Center.
