SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

The Northwest Louisiana Chapter of the American Red Cross is sending three volunteers to Hattiesburg, Miss., on Friday to help with recovery efforts stemming from last weekend's storms and tornado.

Volunteers Lisamarie Griffin and Jean Lanier, both of Bossier City, and Charles Adams of Benton will travel to Natchez, Miss., to join with fellow Louisianian Ray Strickland of Alexandria.

The four will take an Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV) from the ArkLaTex and pick up another ERV from Alexandria along the way.

"Griffin, Lanier and Adams are all very active, very experienced disaster volunteers. All three served during the Hurricane Isaac evacuation response here and deployed to New Jersey and New York during the Superstorm Sandy response," the Red Cross noted in a release.

Additional Red Cross volunteers may be sent to assist in Hattiesburg if needed.
