Transportation plan moves forward in the General Assembly

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

A plan to create a long-term funding solution for the state's transportation infrastructure takes a big step forward.

The Senate has passed a transportation plan, but their version is quite a bit different than the one passed by the House.

That means the two sides will have to hash out the differences in a conference committee.

They won't have much time to hammer out a compromise - the Senate session is scheduled to end next week.
