NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

The Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant on Fore Street in Nacogdoches Friday where deputies seized 18 grams of crack cocaine and 1 lb. of marijuana.

31-year-old Byron Mcclelland was arrested on the scene and charged with possession of marijuana (a state jail felony), possession of a controlled substance (2nd degree felony) and a capias warrant for nonpayment of child support.

Sheriff Jason Bridges said in a press release that his office had an on-going investigation in the distribution of narcotics from Mcclelland's residence in the 2400 block of Fore St.

The sheriff's office was able to gather enough information and evidence over the past month to establish probable cause for a search warrant on the residence.

Mcclelland was booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail.

A deadly virus is threatening the crawfish industry in Southwest Louisiana. It's called white spot syndrome virus and it was first discovered in Thailand, but somehow it made its way to ponds in South Louisiana and specialists are struggling to find the funds to research a solution.  “The catch was increasing and increasing and then it dropped 70% and that's when you saw the dead crawfish floating in the water,” said a crawfish farmer of 34 years, Ian Garbarino.
