La Tech wins its 13th straight; defeating Texas State 84-69

Raheem Appleby scored 21 points as Louisiana Tech defeated Texas State 84-69 Saturday night in the Thomas Assembly Center in front of a crowd of 4,435 for the team's 13th straight victory.

Texas State jumped out of the gate early, leading by as much as eight with 11 minutes to go in the first half. The Bulldogs turned around and went on a 15-2 run to end the half, where they led by 7, 36-29. The Bulldogs would continue their scoring in the second half where they would lead by as much as 19.

LA Tech had three players score in double digits to go along with Appleby's 21 points. Alex Hamilton scored 15 points, while Isaiah Massey added 10 points. Chris Anderson had a night to remember as he scored eight points, grabbed 13 rebounds, blocked three shots and had 3 steals.

Texas State had four players score in double digits, led by Joel Wright who scored 13. Reid Koenen, Wesley Davis and Basil Brown added 13, 12 and 12 points respectively for the Bobcats.

Louisiana Tech's next action comes on the road Thursday February 14th as the Bulldogs travel to Seattle to faceoff with the Redhawks in a 9 p.m. tipoff.
