SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Caddo Parish Sheriff's deputies are still actively looking for a missing man who reportedly fell from a downtown bridge.

The incident happened Wednesday night along the Red River on a trestle that crosses into Bossier City. Police say a Kansas City Southern train was coming up and a person on the bridge may have been hit by the train.

Friday, crews called off the search for the man, but the Marine Unit of the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office is still looking.

"We'll look every day until we find him," says Cpl. Madison Cox.

Cox says it is difficult to determine where a body may become visible. There are many factors including water and outside temperatures, water current, and the person's weight which will determine when the body will wash up.

Right now, the Sheriff's Office is the only agency still searching for the man.

If a body is found, deputies say they will compare dental records with those of missing persons in an attempt to identify the man.
