The southbound lanes of Barksdale Boulevard have been reopened at the West Gate of Barksdale Air Force Base after a head-on collision there around midday Friday.
It happened just after Noon. Witnesses say a Toyota Tacoma pickup was northbound on Barksdale when it drifted into the oncoming lanes of traffic and hit a southbound Nissan Altima head-on.
Both drivers were taken to LSU Health in Shreveport by the Bossier City Fire Department with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators say alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor in this wreck.
The southbound lanes were re-opened around 2:15 p.m.
