SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
It was a close call at a Shreveport gas station after a car nearly smashed into a gas pump Thursday morning.
Police were called out just before 2:30 a.m. to the Raceway gas station on Hearne Avenue just south of I-20. Police say a man sped into the Raceway parking lot crashing into a concrete barrier. Fortunately, that prevented the car from hitting a pump. The driver then reportedly ran inside, told the clerk not to call 911 and washed his hands before running off.
Police say the car had just been registered and insured Wednesday. Police are still searching for the driver at this hour.
