MANY, LA (KSLA) -

An attempt by Many police officers to pull over a driver for loud music ended with a high-speed chase and the driver behind bars.

The chase began in Many at 7:45 a.m. and ended about five minutes later several miles north of town on Highway 171. Reaching speeds of more than 100 miles per hour, the chase finally ended when the suspect was forced off the road.

Many police officers arrested 29-year-old Steven Wayne York of Converse, La., on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of schedule IV drugs, possession of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance, aggravated flight from officers and several traffic violations, including loud music, stop/yield signs, careless operation and false certificates.

York was booked into the Sabine Parish Detention Center.
