HOPE, AR (KSLA) -
The campus at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope has been evacuated and closed for the rest of the day, following reports of a "potential threat" on campus.
This comes after reports of a person with a weapon being spotted on the campus of nearby Hope High School Tuesday morning. That campus was placed on lockdown, although parents have since been allowed to come pick up their children.
Police have not confirmed the nature of the potential threat on the Community College at Hope campus.
While campus police say they are satisfied the threat no longer exists, they have opted to shut down for the day in the interest of safety.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
