A Shreveport man accused of committing multiple home invasions is now in police custody following his arrest by Shreveport Police robbery investigators.
Anthony Scott McDonald, 41, is charged with attempted first-degree robbery, home invasion, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
The arrest follows a string of home invasions and robberies occurring on January 28 near Columbia Park. Police say they multiple reports from homes in the 500 block of Robinson Place, and the 600 block of Prospect Street.
One couple who called for help told police that they were at a bus stop near the intersection of Line Avenue and Prospect Street when a man who confronted them threatened to rob them unless he could use their cell phone.
Each person who called police provided the same description, police say: A medium-to heavy set man with brown curly hair, front teeth missing, wearing a T-shirt and dark jeans. The man was reportedly driving a silver colored Toyota Corolla as he committed the crimes.
After authorities found and talked with the owner of the Toyota, they discovered that the car had been stolen earlier on January 28 by a man that she had recently met.
An investigation led officers to a home in the 100 block of East College, where they spotted the Toyota and found the man inside the residence.
There were no injuries reported in any of the offenses.
