BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Baton Rouge Mardi Gras parades start rolling Saturday evening.

The Krewe of Jupiter and Juno checked into Hotel Indigo Friday in preparation for the 10th anniversary event.

Each of the parade's 14 floats will commemorate a theme from the last nine years, like Nightmare on 4th Street and Kickin' Down with Mother Goose.

Vice President and King of Jupiter David Villneuve says he has been waiting eight years for his reign and is ready to make it the best parade yet.

"Tell everybody to come out. It is a good family oriented parade. Bring a lot of drinks and food for the kids," he said.  "We got a lot of signature throws this year, a lot of lighted stuff."

The krewe is set to roll at 6:30 p.m.  The route starts at the USS Kidd and heads up River Road, then around the Capitol and Pentagon Barracks and ends on Convention St.

On Sunday, the parade goes to the dogs.  The Mystic Krewe of Mutts Parade starts at 1:30 p.m. and goes up and down North Blvd.  This year's theme is "The Totally Paw-some Eighties."
