BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
The man charged in the Beauregard
town shooting, Aramis Jackson, was in court Friday and his attorneys are
looking to step down because of a conflict.
Capital Case Conflict
Attorney David Price asked to withdraw from the case. He says his office has
issues with another murder case.
Jackson is accused of
shooting Alexandra Engler and her daughter Ariana during a home invasion in
September 2010. Jackson has already been through several lawyers.
Despite all the legal
issues, the victim's father believes justice will eventually be served.
"The man cannot get out on bond on a first
degree murder charge. Until he has his
trial he's stuck there. So he is not on the streets, roaming the streets,
possibly hurting someone else. It's not bothering me, there is a process. The
process has to be done right. I think the slow course is probably the best
course because you got less avenues for error, less avenue for appeal later on,"
said Johnny Adrianai, Ariana's father.
Aramis Jackson is charged with first-degree murder and attempted
first-degree murder.
Alexandra Engler was shot to death inside her Beauregard Town home in
September 2010.
Her daughter, Ariana, who was 9 years old at the time, was seriously wounded
in the attack.
Investigators said Jackson's DNA was found on Engler's door.
The judge has ordered
Jackson back in court on February 14, 2012 on the withdrawal for the attorneys.
