Saints fire defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WAFB) -

Both defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo and secondary coach Ken Flajole have been fired from the New Orleans Saints Thursday according to an announcement released by the team.

"I personally want to thank Steve and Ken for their contributions during what was an unprecedented 2012 season," said Saints head coach Sean Payton.

Payton also said the Saints defense will be switching to a 3-4 alignment for the 2013 season.
