If you're willing to take a chilly dip for a good cause, the time is now to register for the 5th Annual Polar Plunge coming up in early March.
The plunge benefits Special Olympics Louisiana (SOLA), a state-wide organization that changes lives by promoting understanding, acceptance and inclusion between people with and without intellectual disabilities. SOLA offers year-round programs for 13,500 children and adults with intellectual disabilities in all 64 parishes with the help of 14,000 volunteers.
The event is set for Saturday, March 2nd. It starts at 9:00 a.m. at the American Legion, Lowe-McFarlane Post #14, 5315 South Lakeshore Drive, Shreveport, LA 71149.
For a minimum of $50.00, participants can take the plunge. Costumes are encouraged. Click here for the latest information and registration form. You can also create a Firstgiving page, where friends and family can sponsor your plunge.
