(WECT) – They say a
picture is worth a thousand words, and in this case this picture has warmed two
million hearts.
Meet Linda and John. The story behind the picture embodies
the definition of love, patience and kindness.
Matthew Ballestero, who posted the photo on his Facebook
page, was at Starbucks with some friends when they were overwhelmed with
the compassion this couple felt for each other.
According to Ballestero, John was using flashcards to help
Linda remember what she had forgotten. Linda had told Ballestero and his
friends that she had lost her memory after a recent stroke and she's trying to get it back.
"My friends and I were overwhelmed by the love that these
two had for each other, and I knew I wanted to let them know how much of an
inspiration and a perfect example of true love they were to me,"
Ballestero wrote in the Facebook caption in which he described meeting the
pair.
He explained Linda's eagerness, positive attitude and joy
coupled with John's patience and unconditional love showed a beautiful example
of happiness and true love to anyone who saw them.
The couple appeared on TODAY
Wednesday morning to talk about the experience. Linda told Kristen Dahlgren
that for a while she was unable to even speak.
The photo has drawn more than two million viewers.
