HAMMOND, LA (WAFB) -

A Hammond man is in jail after deputies say they found chemicals used to produce meth outside his home.

Deputies were initially checking on a suspicious vehicle in the 10500 block of Gatlin Rd.  When they went to find the owner, several people ran out the back door of a house and ran.

Deputies say they saw materials used to make meth in plain sight at the property.

Jeffrey Herrod, 30, was arrested and has been charged with manufacturing CDS II.  At the time of his arrest he was out on bond.
