DESOTO PARISH, LA (KSLA) -

A meeting before a judge Wednesday in the capital murder case of Brian Horn raised no concerns that are significant enough to delay trial, according to the Caddo ADA prosecuting the case.

The case involves Horn, 34, a Caddo Parish taxi cab driver who is accused of killing a 12-year-old boy, Justin Bloxom, on March 30, 2010.

Horn is accused of pretending he was a girl and through text messages, lured Bloxom away from a friend's house. Bloxom's body was found hours after he was reported missing in a wooded field off of Highway 171 in DeSoto Parish. Prosecutors say he had been smothered to death.

Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.

Wednesday's pre-trial status conference was described as typical. It was a chance for the defendant, attorneys and prosecution to meet before the judge to go over any unresolved issues.

According to Caddo Parish ADA Brady O'Callaghan, the defense has raised concerns about communication between the crime lab and their experts. No delay was requested, but if their concerns aren't resolved, that could change.

Callaghan, who is prosecuting the trial, was asked by the DeSoto DA to join the prosecution because of Callaghan's experience in trying capital murder cases.

Jury selection is set for June 24.

Propsective jurors are expected to be called in from Lafayette Parish.
