CADDO PARISH, LA (KSLA) - A Caddo Parish grand jury has indicted a Benton woman in the carjacking and murder of a Shreveport nurse.

A jogger found the body of 68-year-old Rose Gonzaque Coleman in the field behind the old AT&T plant off of Williamson Way near Mansfield Road around early the morning of November 10.

28-year-old Stacey Blount was arrested later the same day in Natchitoches. Police say she was found driving Coleman's car, and believe Blount carjacked her at a Bossier City casino before her death.

Police initially charged Blount with second degree murder, but Caddo Parish DA Charles Scott confirmed Wednesday night that the grand jury handed down an indictment for first degree murder. The upgraded charge indicates the grand jury found there is sufficient evidence to prove the killing was pre-meditated.

Blount remains in custody at the Caddo Correctional Center, held without bond. She is also charged with kidnapping and as an in-state fugitive.
