DOTD: All roads reopened

Posted: Updated:

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has reopened all roads shut down Tuesday morning into Wednesday due to icy conditions.

By 10 a.m. Wednesday morning, DOTD crews had reopened all of I-49 and I-220 in Caddo and Bossier Parishes to motorists traveling in both directions.

The Benton Road Railroad Overpass in Bossier City has also reopened.

DOTD crews have already reopened LA 154 at the Lake Bistineau Bridge in Bienville Parish.

Despite the re-openings, DOTD officials remind drivers that during winter weather conditions, motorists should: reduce speed, plan for additional travel time, avoid distracted driving and provide additional spacing between vehicles to allow for longer stopping distances.

Drivers should still take precaution and keep an eye out for ice forming on bridges, overpasses and elevated surfaces. As always, DOTD reminds motorists to buckle up and refrain from drinking and driving.

You can check this story throughout the day for updates as the roads reopen.
