SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Shreveport police arrested a man they think is responsible for several burglaries on Saturday night.

Officers arrested 20-year-old Pierce McCray after they got a call about a suspicious person on Sand Beach Boulevard. When they got there, they say McCray had a woman's handbag, and he ran from the officers.

They think McCray is responsible for more than half a dozen residential burglaries, and investigators found some of the stolen items at his home when they searched it. The crimes they suspect him in happened over the last several months in South Shreveport.

Investigators say the list of potential victims is likely to increase as they look in to other burglaries in the surrounding area.
