BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
Police have arrested a man for allegedly stabbing a woman to death Thursday night.
Police say Jerome Mellion, 52, stabbed Wanda Ortiz, 48, multiple times outside her Plank Rd. apartment after an argument.
Mellion also allegedly stabbed a second victim who tried to intervene. He suffered moderate injuries.
Both Ortiz and the second victim were taken to the hospital. Ortiz later died of her injuries.
Mellion was arrested Friday in south Baton Rouge. He has been charged with first degree murder and attempted first degree murder.
