SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Two people were injured Friday afternoon in an explosion at a Queensborough barber shop.

The explosion blew out some of the windows at Shreveport Finest Barber Shop in the 2000 block of Jewella Avenue just around 1:15 p.m.

Shreveport Fire Department Chief Safety Officer Scott Wolverton says there were several people inside the barber shop at the time. A 53-year-old man was taken to the hospital with difficulty breathing. Wolverton says a woman was also treated on the scene for injuries caused by flying glass.

A witness reported seeing flames or sparks coming from an outlet before the windows blew out into the parking lot. Wolverton says they are working to make sure the area is safe and trying to determine the cause of the explosion.
