PAINCOURTVILLE, LA (WAFB) -
A
39-year-old registered sex offender is behind bars again on charges related to
sexual activity with minors.
Lonnie
Fortner of Paincourtville is accused of having a sexual relationship with a
15-year-old girl.
He was
arrested Thursday on five counts of carnal knowledge of a juvenile and five
counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
The
Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office said the girl's father filed a complaint
after finding out about the relationship.
Deputies
said the girl told them she had sex with Fortner on five different occasions.
She said
she met Fortner through a mutual friend. She added it was his idea for her to
tell her dad she was tutoring children at a church in Paincourtville when she
was instead going to visit him.
The teen
told investigators Fortner bought her things like an iPhone, clothing and
jewelry. She reportedly said he also paid for visits to the beauty salon.
Fortner was
booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center. Bond has not been set.
Authorities
reported Fortner was convicted in 2003 of carnal knowledge of a juvenile and
pornography involving juveniles.
