BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) -

As the community continues to mourn the death of Bossier High School teacher Ricky Brown, his wife speaks to KSLA News 12 about her last moments with her husband and what she wants his legacy to be.

The 35-year-old teacher died suddenly Monday of a heart attack.

Mia Brown, wife of Rickey Brown, says the day he died started like any other, until he complained of back pain, and that would end up being the heart attack that would claim his life.

"He's 35 years old. When you look at him, he looks healthy. He looks like an in-shape guy. He's robust," says Brown about her husband the day he died.

Brown says now that she wants her husband's legacy to live through his passion of coaching and teaching.

"It didn't matter if football season was over. He was still watching football, still watching film," she says.

Brown taught at Bossier High School for 4 years and was the offensive football coach, and a track coach.

"He taught me to stay motivated and never give up," says track runner Kierra Worley.

Brown is survived by his wife, two daughters, and son.

Family hour will be at 6 p.m. on Friday at Memorial Funeral Home in Homer, Louisiana. The funeral begins at 1 p.m. Saturday at Victory Praise Worship Center.
