Athlete of the Week: Megan Backofen - January 9 - KSLA News 12 Shreveport, Louisiana News Weather & Sports

This week's Landers Dodge Chrysler Jeep Athlete of the Week is Megan Backofen.  The 6th grader from Copeland Middle School is a gymnast and cross country runner.  Backofen is a two-time Middle School Cross Country champion winning in both 4th and 6th grade.  She completed her first half marathon in December running the Dallas Half Marathon in 2:06.  The time was the fastest time for any girl 12 or under to finish.  Backofen is also sports a 4.0 GPA with her favorite subject being math.
