BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
The almost constant rain, which has been heavy for some areas, has resulted in flood watches and warnings for many parts of southeast Louisiana and southern Mississippi.
The National Weather Service said a very slow moving storm system in southern Texas is dumping lots of rain in the WAFB viewing area and will continue to do so through Thursday.

Rains of four to six inches and more have fallen over portions of the WAFB viewing area. Many have seen the end to the heavy rains today.
But with the temporary rain stoppage, we are seeing some areas of rather dense fog developing.
Fog likely lingers into the
overnight. For many, little if any rain for the rest of the day. But
don't be fooled: Round #2 arrives tomorrow. While Thursday's rains will
not be as heavy as what has fallen over the past 24 hours, another 1"
to 3" of rain will only add to the flooding woes!
Flood warnings have been issued for sections of the
Comite, Amite, Tickfaw and Tangipahoa Rivers.
NWS said law enforcement officials reported several roads closed due to high water in Ascension Parish with water approaching a few homes in the Gonzales and St. Amant areas. In Livingston Parish, a few roads are impassible due to high water as well.
A flash flood watch will remain in effect through Thursday for most of the WAFB viewing area.
