Bossier City home heavily damaged by fire

BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) -

Fire caused heavy damage to a home Sunday morning in Bossier City.

The Bossier City Fire Department responded around 9:40 a.m. to a home in the 5400 block of Hackney Circle.

The first fire crews that arrived on the scene found heavy smoke coming from the structure.

Fire officials say the fire appears to have originated in the vicinity of the home's laundry room and had spread into the attic by the time the first fire crews arrived on scene within four minutes of getting the call to respond.

Firefighters had the blaze under control in approximately 5 minutes.

The occupants of the house were not at home at the time of the fire. There were no reported injuries. The cause remains under investigation.
