Shreveport Police patrol vehicle overturns on Youree Drive

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Shreveport Police are investigating an accident involving a patrol vehicle that overturned.

Authorities tell KSLA News 12 that an officer was heading south on Youree Drive when she suddenly had to swerve to avoid another southbound car in front of her.

The officer's car hit a light pole, veered into a ditch and overturned. The accident occurred shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Youree Drive at the cross streets of E. Kings Highway and Clark Street.

The officer was taken to LSU Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. He is listed in good condition.
