TEXARKANA, TX (KSLA) -
If you have an outstanding warrant in Texarkana, Texas, then you might be interested in an amnesty program offered by the municipal court.
The program allows those with outstanding warrants to pay the warrant, in full, without being arrested.
Officials with the court say there are hundreds of unpaid warrants in the city dating back to 2006.
An city official talked about the most common unpaid warrants.
"There are thousands of dollars out in terms of unpaid warrants. These are Class C misdemeanor warrants, primarily speeding violations and other misdemeanor offenses," says David Orr.
One can pay the warrant with cash, a money order, or a Master Card debit card.
The city will accept payment between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Texas Pay Fine window. That's located on the first floor of the Bi-State Justice Building on North State Line.
The city will offer its amnesty program until February 15.
